However, I'm finding myself liking the pickups and using the mid boost less and less in my current band situation. I've owned a couple of very fine custom shop strats myself, and currently own a Custom Shop Clapton Strat that is a killing guitar with a great neck. I'm in now way affiliated with FatSoundGuitars but Stu has hooked me up big time with some of the best guitars that I've ever played. But you really need to find a good dealer to order from because they will take care of you. Typical build times are about 4 - 8 months and well worth the wait. Price wise you're probably still in the same ballpark as the Anderson. You may want to consider a custom order from Fender. I'm sure some people would say I got lucky. The Andersons that I've played couldn't touch them. I've played both and currently own 4 incredible Fender custom shop guitars. Are you considering the Anderson because of the aesthetics or sound? Not sure why you would consider buying an Anderson only to change out the pickups to make it sound more like a Fender. Almost sounds like you're trying to talk yourself into the Anderson.(or talk yourself out of a fender).
